from Tuscany with love

On an annual trip to the Tuscan region of Italy Francesca and her husband spotted a beautiful paper bread bag at a beach restaurant. She fell in love with the product immediately and made contact with Le Sorelle, the family-run business producing them. From this meeting, Noi Due ("the two of us") was born and in 2014 Uashmama landed in South Africa.

In 2017, Nicole had seen a gorgeous paper bag at a luncheon and promptly contacted Francesca for more information. Her passion for the product and the obvious beauty of the UASHMAMA range made it easy to sell and we decided in 2019 that Nicole would become a partner in Noi Due with the goal of growing the business.

UASHMAMA, pronounced “wash mama” are paper bags that feel like leather and wash like fabric. Designed originally as a bread bag, UASHMAMA paper bags look great everywhere, with anything. Since its humble beginnings, the catalogue has grown to include a variety of colours and styles, including carry bags, laundry bags, accessories, and more. We are proud to be able to represent this amazing brand and bring these unique paper products to our beautiful country.
